Lake Wylie is a large man-made impoundment of the Catawba River located on the border of North Carolina and South Carolina that provides plenty of opportunity for paddling and water recreation. The lake has over 300 miles of shoreline and multiple access areas for paddlers to launch. Located just north of the border, Allen Fishing Access provides a convenient launch area for the northwest arm of the lake. If fishing south of the state line, be sure to have appropriate permits for fishing in both states.
